I love 4th of July, and I love it even more when we are up here in Utah. We have made it a tradition for the past 4 or 5 years and I think we will keep it up. First of all, we get out of the blazing heat of AZ, and second of all, Utah does it right for the 4th. I love the small town feel of all the parades, flags in every yard, days and days of fireworks...it's so fun and reminds us of the importance of being patriotic, appreciating the land and freedom we've been given.
Both of my fathers and my big brother have served in the military and it's amazing the swell of pride and love I feel for them, especially this time of year, because of their service. My mom posted these pictures of them on her blog and so my sis and I are stealing them :)
Look at these handsome men in uniform:
Ben Leonard (Marine Corps)Michael Tanner (Air Force)
Jason Leonard (Coast Guard)

Men in Uniform- Those guys are HOTTIES!!
I think you're right about Utah doing the 4th right. Idaho is the same way...I remember all of the parades and picnics as a kid. Now, our kids are lucky to get a small flag placed in the yard by a local realator, a BBQ in our back yard and a dip in the pool! No sparklers...that's the worst part of all for me! Oh, how I love kids with sparklers!
I love Utah for the 4th and 24th! I hope you guys are/did have a fun trip! Also, those pictures are so great!
I love these pictures, when I saw them on Mom's blog it took my breath away. Your right, the 4th in Utah is wonderful!! I am so happy you’re up here to be with us. And Steve, Thank you for a great night a Brick Oven, it was so fun :-)
Awesome pic of your dad and "Wesley" Email me your number so we can try and see you Fri or Sat in Utah! Mary and I are on the same plane so we could go somewhere directly to see you!
Lisa, too funny...I got your comment about the bachelor (don't worry I won't ruin it for you) but I was totally confused because your parents name and picture came up as the ones commenting. I clicked on them and was wondering and giggling at the fact that a missionary couple was Tivoing the Bachelorette! LOL! Then as I scanned down I saw your face and realized it was you who left the message! have fun in UT! Wish I were there and out of this heat!
